The first thing people usually notice about me is that I am always smiling.

At Queen's, I became highly involved with the Alma Mater Society. The AMS is the student government at Queen', and represents all 14,000+ undergraduate students, operates 14 student services, and employes 500 staff and over 1000 volunteers. It is also the oldest student government in Canada. I started working for the AMS as a volunteer at Queen's TV, before being hired as a part-time Customer Service Representative at the Publishing & Copy Centre. I quickly rose through the ranks, being progressively promoted to Assistant Manager, General Manager, and finally Retail Services Director, a full-time executive position in which I managed a budget of $1.8 million, hired and supervised 9 peer managers, and reported directly to the Vice-President (Operations) and Board of Directors. During my time with the Alma Mater Society I delivered record fiscal performance for both the Publishing & Copy Centre and Tricolour Outlet, produced an original 30-minute investigative report on Queen's financial situation, and oversaw the largest renovation and capial aqusition project in the P&CC's history.

In my free time, I like to try and challenge myself to learn new things and master new skills. Some of my projects have been to learn HTML and CSS and build this website entirely by hand - no templates or web design tools here! I've also been teaching myself the ins and outs of Microsoft Access, and hope to move on to MySQL once I'm comfortable with the basics.
